The GNESD Secretariat is the host for an annual Network Assembly. The
objective of the Assembly is to:
Approve the two-year strategic plan, work
programme, and budget
Select representatives for the Steering Committee
Provide general guidance regarding the priorities
and direction of the Network’s activities
Receive reports from the Working Groups on
activities conducted under the aegis of the Network,
Present other initiatives that are of interest to
the Network Members and Partners.

Member Centres of Excellence
Organisations/companies/institutions that have obtained Network
Partner status by sending in the signed GNESD Statement of
Commitment to the Secretariat.
Potential Centres of Excellence in both
developing and industrialized countries that have filled in the
GNESD Network Member questionnaire. Both the Network Partner
Statement of Commitment and the Network Member Questionnaire are
available from the Secretariat upon request.
The first GNESD Network Assembly took place on the
22 November 2003 at the Holiday Inn in Nairobi, Kenya. At the Assembly
it was decided to invite three New Centres to joint the Network. These
were IIIEE, (Sweden), Fraunhofer Institute (Germany) and AEA
Technology, Future Energy Solutions, (UK).
The second Network Assembly was held on 15 December 2004 in Noordwijk,
The Netherlands. The 36 Assembly delegates approved the GNESD Work
Programme 2005 - 2007 and decided to maintain the Secretariat location
during this period. The Assembly also appointed representatives for
the 2005 GNESD Steering Committee.
