Launch of new Summary for Policy Markers: “Clean Energy for the
Urban Poor: an Urgent Issue”
GNESD has completed a thematic study on Urban and Peri-Urban Energy
Access. Based on the findings a Summary for Policy Makers (SPM) has
been produced which will be launched at the COP 14 side event and the
Annual Assembly to be held in December 2008 in Poznan. The thematic
study has been coordinated by TERI, India. The technical reports will
be available on the GNESD website after Dec. 11 2008. For the

A GNESD newsletter has been produced in November 2008. It
features the findings of the Urban-Peri-Urban Energy Access study and
news on other GNESD activities, including the upcoming Bioenergy theme
and the recent donor review of the network. Please

A special issue of the journal “Energy for Sustainable
Development (ESD)” will be published by the end of December 2008. The
special issue will contain articles on the findings from Asia, Africa
and Latin America. The special issue is expected to be on line by
January 2009.
